Courtney Elizabeth Bucher, known professionally as Nicolina, is an American singer, songwriter, and internationally published model. She is known for her combination of genres which created her unique sound that incorporates elements from R&B, Pop, and Jazz.
Nicolina began her musical journey during her early years while learning the piano. She found inspiration in high school doing music covers on YouTube which lead her to a full time music career. She hit the proverbial ground running, swiftly drumming up multiple opportunities to showcase her talents on a broad spectrum. Taking the stage for the first time at Rolling Loud Festival effectively marked her entry into the entertainment world.
Since then she has released a self titled introductory EP in 2017, 'Caution' in 2018, and defined her style and lyrics as an influence of an open, upbeat and inspirational environment for her listeners. She has relocated to LA and appeared as a contestant on The Four: Battle for Stardom premiering on FOX, was featured on Shade 45's New Artist Spotlight, and has opened for Trina, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Hi Rez, and more.
Born in Winter Park Florida, Nicolina started her musical journey during her early years learning the piano. Gaining attention from self-released cover videos on social media, she began to take her career seriously. In 2014 she stepped into her first professional studio and fell in love. At the beginning of 2016, her life took an unexpected turn after the passing of her Nonna, her namesake, which came just a month prior to her first industry opportunity. Within the same year she performed at Rolling Loud and sold out her first headlining show in Orlando, FL. In the following year she was featured on Shade 45’s New Artist Spotlight with Lord Sear, toured with 104.5 The Beat, and opened for artists like Trina and A Boogie wit da Hoodie.
In 2018, Nicolina had the opportunity to appear on FOX’s The Four: Battle for Stardom, performing on Season 1 Episode 4. Inspired from her experience, Nicolina took the step forward and demanded full creative control. After a change in management, the Nicolina brand began shifting organically and with this came a fresh perspective for the young singer.
Having come to understand her perceived calling as the voice for the voiceless within her generation, Nicolina has continued utilizing key examples drawn from her own life experience. Through shared emotional semblance, Nicolina discloses her own struggles, fears and insecurities in the hope of inspiring universal connection with her followers. After relocating to Los Angeles, Nicolina released her most honest and self-reflective work to-date, entitled “Caution”, in which she opened the doors for her genuine sound and who she is as an artist.
